On Monday, November 16, 2015, the Queensland Government confirmed that it had reached a contract for the $3 billion Queens Wharf integrated resort development project in Brisbane. Contract closure is a key aspect of the final stage of the procurement process, which has been successfully completed by the Ministry of National Development.
Starlight Entertainment Group (formerly Echo Entertainment Group), Far Eastern Alliance (Australia) and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises-now the contractor is responsible for providing a world-class tourism, leisure and entertainment area in the heart of Brisbane CBD.
The Queensland Government will bring economic growth to Queensland. When the integrated resort development project is implemented in 2022, more than 2,000 construction jobs and 8,000 ongoing jobs will be created.
The Renaissance District will provide better facilities for daily use and public events, and showcase Brisbane to locals, international and international tourists.
The preliminary site investigation works started in 2016 and the demolition and construction works are expected to start in January 2017.
